Thoughts...

"Have you ever had so bad, so dark, so...disturbing, that you question if they are even your own? I ponder this very question as I cringe at the terrible images assaulting my mind at this very moment. To have striven my whole life in pursuit of good and right only to be driven to near insanity as I peer into what can only be described as the thoughts of a madman? Have my gods forsaken me? Left me to be devoured by thoughts that only the most vile and evil of souls can conjour? What wrong have I committed? Surely I can be repentant, and regain the love of the gods? Surely they are not so petty as to not let me have a second chance? Why do this to me? Why? What do they know that I do not? Am I worthless, a nothing? I am sure I have done nothing so terrible as to warrant this punishment. Yes, I am sure of that! I am not guilty of a blessed thing, my gods, yet you do this to me?! BAH! Fine by me! A pox on your immortal lives! I have tried to fix problems, help people, and further my country, and I am punished for doing so? Despite your heinous thoughts you bombard me with, I shall never break! I will redouble my efforts and see this country saved from the likes of you "gods"! I shall strip this country of all effigies, temples and priests that worship in your names and then wipe those away who would still try and speak those same names!! You will fall into meaninglessness, uselessness and fade away for all eternity!"*

~King Eraderias Hatherson speech to the gods that tried to show Eraderias the horrors of what he was doing to the people of Hatth. He was a very cruel and violent dictator that had taken to murdering his people for minor violations of the law. Eraderias thought what he was doing was perfectly normal, and that the visions were punishment for "helping" the citizens of Hatth. After which, as he promised, he ramped up his violence to include razing temples, murdering priests and any who were aligned with a church. He became known as "King Bloodspiller", and the cleansing of religion known as "The Vile Ending". It only ended when he was overthrown and killed by a group of adventurers known by one of many names "The Heroes of Diamond Lake".

Black Mists of Winderling

The Black Mists of Winderling are located in the southern end of the continent of Tiel, and occupy a small bay along the coast and inland 500 yards and spreads along the coast for around a mile, and is about 100 feet tall.
The mist causes any organic material to wither and die in a matter of seconds, and non-organic things to either rust, corrode or dry out and crumble to dust.
The darkness is impenetrable to any light, either natural or artificial. There is no information as to who, or what, created this mist, or as to its purpose.

Ghost Giants Roam the land

The ethereal race of beings known as "Ghost Giants" roam the lands, scaring people with their physical size and unearthly moans and groans. They seemingly have no means to interact with the physical world they occupy, but there are stories of the giants toppling buildings, diverting rivers and general mean-spirited shenanigans, although they shouldn't have any ability to do such things. No reports of deaths or injuries have surfaced.
